The Lovely Bones – 2009 film

The cover was mesmerized me! the first thing in my head when I saw it was ‘this is artistic’! well, I always love pictures with lonely tree on them and my friend gave me –__ – ' face. Then without knowing anything about the cast and the story, I decided to buy this film and expected to find the same artistic style in this film. And the film didn’t disappointed me. Horray! Like the cover says: A Thrilling Adventure!

The Lovely Bones is a 2009 American supernatural drama film directed by Peter Jackson and stared by Saoirse Ronan as Susie Salmon. This film is an adaptation of the award-winning and best selling 2002 novel by Alice Sebold, The Lovely Bones. Nop, I haven’t read the novel yet, maybe later when I get my hand on it.

The film is set in 1973 about Susie Salmon, a 14-year-old girl living in Pennsylvania with her parents, sister and brother. She had passion in photography and dreams to become a photographer some day. One day, Susie walked home through a cornfield and run into her weird neighbor, George Harvey who coaxed her into his underground field. Knowing something amiss, Susie tried to escape the den. After finding Harvey soaking in a bathtub and saw her bracelet hanging on the sink near a bloody shaving razor, she realized she never escaped the den in the first place and murdered. Susie become trapped in someplace between heaven and earth. In there, she leaded to reveal the mystery of her killer and watched over her loved ones dealing with her gone.

 

I love the story, it held all the emotions needed. The angst, the confusedness of Susie when she got trapped between heaven and earth, the sadness of the family that left behind, how they dealt with her gone, the hatred towards the killer, hoping he would be punished the worst punishment.

And how the casts did amazing job with their acting, since I dont know much about acting all I can say is just amazing, haha whatever, I dont care what you think. 

  

I really love all the scenes, they are so artistic and really spoil my eyes. The director surely did amazing job with CGI portraying places between heaven and earth, someplace beyond logics and rules. Look at the sceneries, the colors and the artistic styles, I don’t care what people say, for me this film is beautiful !!

 

In the end I just love this film, it has everything I love to watch in a film, amazing story, amazing acting and amazing cinematography. ahh I’m satisfied. yahahaha :))
